Dharma

Tibetan Buddhism (or simply Vajrayana) can help enrich one’s inner life, but to benefit oneself and others one must have a thorough understanding of the precious Buddha-dharma. We formed our organization to achieve these objectives:

• to help individuals gain a deeper understanding of Buddhism generally, and the teachings of the Tibetan Kagyu school in particular;
• to assist daily practitioners in the pursuit of their listening, contemplation and meditation upon the Buddha-dharma;
• to understand the general impact of the Buddha-dharma for all sentient beings; and
• to help people generate a sense of well-being and personal growth.

We would be delighted to meet with you to discuss any questions you might have about your spiritual life, the precious Buddha-dharma or personal matters. We offer one-on-sessions for members and non-members to discuss personal problems privately, as well as specific Buddhist principles. We can design a personal program of study to assist the development of compassion, contentment and warm-heartedness for Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike.

Tze Zhan Monastery practices according to the Drikung Kagyu lineage (or the “Experience of Meditation Blessings” lineage), which specializes in effective meditation methods. The Drikung Kagyu lineage was established in 1179, and the direct transmission of its teachings has not been broken since its foundation. The Drikung Kagyu are known for the profound teachings of Mahamudra and the Six Yogas of Naropa. Our center practices the pure form of Buddhism, which places no emphasis on the basis of caste, creed, color, ethnicity, gender or status—all are welcome. We look forward to meeting you.
